Trevoh Chalobah Poised to Step in for Guehi in England Squad

Trevoh Chalobah in action

The Chelsea star followed his brother Nathaniel in representing England, emerging as the 21st duo of siblings to earn caps for the England side.

Trevoh Chalobah is set to join up with the Three Lions selection to replace injured Crystal Palace centre-back Marc Guehi.

The 26-year-old is set to meet up with the team for England's last World Cup qualifiers against Albania and Serbia, although it has not yet been made public.

The England team have already booked their place for next summer's tournament.

Chalobah received his first call-up under England manager Thomas Tuchel in the month of May and then played his first game against the Senegalese team.

In the month of September, Tuchel remarked Chalobah was unlucky to be left out from the selection for qualifying games against Serbia and Andorra, and also omitted him for the subsequent October international break.

Tuchel has been an key presence in Chalobah's development, having handed him his Chelsea first-team bow in 2021.

Chalobah has appeared in all but four fixtures for Chelsea this season, with the club third in the Premier League, in the EFL Cup last eight and in the league phase of the European competition.

Guehi suffered a foot injury in Crystal Palace's Europa Conference League win over AZ Alkmaar recently.

There are likely to be further inclusions to the team. Newcastle manager Eddie Howe has confirmed that both attacker Anthony Gordon (hip injury) and shot-stopper Nick Pope (a concussion) will be unavailable from the squad.
