The Hero Shooter Marvel Rivals Boldly Unveils the Fresh Lady Loki Skin
While some may dismiss Marvel Rivals as an Overwatch clone, developer NetEase earns credit for finding innovative ways to appeal to its eager and dedicated fanbase. Enter Lady Loki, a completely new skin for the current Strategist hero Loki, providing players a comics-accurate depiction of the Asgardian deity.
Not Hela, But Loki
Despite some predictions and fears, the previously teased Lady Loki costume is not a skin for Hela. Instead, it is a complete reskin of Loki himself, complete with fresh voice lines. Judging by the official preview, Lady Loki keeps all of Loki's core abilities: Mystical Missile, Deception, and his clone ability. The sole difference is her new appearance, designed to appeal to an segment of fans more than ready to part with their Lattice.
Hearing and Seeing Lady Loki
Below is a glimpse at Lady Loki in action, accompanied by a taste of her new voiceover, performed by voice actor Abby Trott. It's worth noting Trott is also the voice behind Magik in Marvel Rivals.
Her lines and onscreen presence add a fresh energy to the familiar kit.
A Gateway to Future Skins
Now that NetEase has broken the seal with this gender-bent skin for Loki, the Marvel Rivals community is already speculating about future possibilities. Fan suggestions now include:
- Gwenpool as the forthcoming Deadpool.
- Thor's alter ego Jane Foster as Thor.
- Gwen Stacy as Spider-Woman.
The big question is: Does NetEase have the courage to introduce less mainstream alternate versions, such as one-time Ms. Marvel Sharon Ventura as She-Thing? That will probably depend on player requests!
